Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C)
Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising.
Hazelbrook Public School has an active and enthusiastic Parents and Citizens Association (P&C). The P&C represents parents and carers of children at our school, supporting the education of our students through a number of activities, and actively seeking to enrich all aspects of the school.
The P&C meets on the second Tuesday of the month during school terms at 7pm in the staff room. Meetings, reports of various fundraising activities, a personal report by the principal, updates on relevant educational issues, allocation of funds and general business where matters of interest concerning the school and education are discussed.
Among other things, the P&C raises money for the school through various fundraising activities. In the last five years the P&C has helped fund Bunmarra (the ropes playground), multipurpose courts, the Aboriginal food trail learning space, updates to technology in classrooms, and more recently block-out blinds to north facing classrooms.
Hazelbrook P&C also runs the uniform shop (run solely by volunteers) as well as the canteen, which operates five days per week in the school term. Our major fundraiser is the Garden Festival ( now in its 32nd year) held in September every year. We also run sausage sizzles at sports carnivals, discos and other activites.
